Me
First of all, like in all "about"-pages I must introduce my name and what I'm doing. My name is Espen B. Nilsen and
I live in Trondheim, Norway, where I'm studying at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (
NTNU). During the first years at the university my main subjects were physics and mathematics. After two years a choose mathematics as my way further. Now, I have started at my last year out of five. So this means I am only months away from getting my Master-degree. If you wonder about which kind of mathematics I study, you can send me an email.
I grew up in a city in northern Norway. After I finished elementary school and high school in my hometown, I moved further up north; to Finnmark, the part of Norway which is closest to the Arctic (except from Svalbard). In Finnmark I studied outdoor life for a year. That year I spent a lots of days out in the nature; go hunting, fishing, skiing, walking, riding the dog sleigh, etc.. I could have written many pages about this, but I will leave it out.
Through my life, as you probably understand, I've been a lot out in the wild. Therefore it's natural for me that most of my photos are from the nature. The camera is always in my backpack! I think it's important to show people what they are missing if they only live their urban lives.
The world is much bigger than the city you live in! Many that have looked to some pictures I've taken, have said to me "Wow, those are very nice places", and followed up with the sentence: "You must have walked a very long distance to come there...". Then I have looked at them, and told them that it's just in front of their noses. The only thing they have to do is to move from the safe place they live, and walk out in God's beautiful nature! Of course, I know that some places around the world, there's longer between such places, but hopefully you get my point...
This was not so much about me, but I think that this page is not a place where I should tell about my whole life.
