Sørøya – Rock Ptarmigan

Sørøya has a large amount of Ptarmigans (Lagopus) leaving on the island all the year. Ptarmigan is a small bird in the groose family which is famous for its good meat.

Sørøya – Flowering Water

We passed this small water when we left Kanonvatnet the secdond morning of our trip at Sørøya. Even though Sørøya is an island very far up north in Norway, with hard and rough climate and weather, there are much life present during the summer months.

Sørøya – Indre Oksevika

The first day at Sørøya we travelled to a nice and special mountain top called Inneroksen (395 meters above sea level). At the foot on the north-west side of Inneroksen lies Indre Oksevika, which is in the bottom on this photo.
